Breelib has been designed so that you can take a dose in a short space of time, should you want to. The most important thing is to take the full dose at a pace which suits you.
For information on how to use Breelib to take a full dose, please watch the short video tutorials and review the information in this section.
For full instructions, please refer to the Breelib Inhalation System Instructions for Use booklet (IFU) which is supplied in your Breelib Starter Pack.
After filling Breelib the device can be turned ON.
Lightly press the button ON/OFF button once before removing your finger. Avoid pressing the button with too much force or holding it down.
You will hear two 'clicks' and all the lights briefly turn ON.
Only the battery light will remain ON. A green battery light means you have up to one weeks worth of charge. An orange battery light means you have up to one days worth of charge.
If you hear a 'beep' after pressing the ON/OFF button this is Breelib's way of letting you know that something is not quite right.
Please see the troubleshooting guide or see Breelib information sheet 2.
When Breelib is ON, if you press and hold down the ON/OFF button for 2 or more seconds the device will turn OFF.
When taking a dose, if you hold Breelib with your fingers over the ON/OFF button you may accidentally turn Breelib OFF. If this happens lightly press the ON/OFF button once to turn Breelib back ON then finish taking your dose.
When using Breelib, keep the device flat to stop drug from moving around inside.
Holding Breelib at the sides between your thumb and fingers will avoid you pressing the ON/OFF button and turning Breelib OFF when you do not want to. It will also keep the air inlets on Breelib clear.
Positioning the mouthpiece correctly will :
When using Breelib, it is important to sit comfortably in an upright position and remember to hold the device as flat as possible. A slight tilt is allowable.
Breelib is designed to deliver drug deep inside your lungs, whilst minimising the chance of drug staying in your throat or upper airways.
Two factors will affect where drug is delivered to when using Breelib:
A breathing cycle with Breelib lasts for a full 3 seconds. Not breathing in for a full cycle will mean that some drug can be delivered where it is not needed, either in the throat or upper airways.
When you start to breathe in through the mouthpiece you will hear a 'click'. This is the start of the breathing cycle.
The fine mist of drug and air is then delivered for two seconds
Followed by 1 second of clear air. This will push the drug mist deep into your lungs.
At the end of the breathing cycle you will hear a second 'click' and the mouthpiece light will turn OFF.
You should take your dose at a pace which suits you but you should always break for at least 1 second between breathing in through the mouthpiece.
Breathing in either too slowly or too quickly can result in drug staying in your throat or upper airways which can cause unwanted effect.
When you breathe in through Breelib, the mouthpiece lights will help guide the speed of your breathing to make sure that with each breathe, drug is delivered to where it is needed, deep inside your lungs.
You are breathing in at the correct speed. Try and repeat this breathing each time
You are breathing in either slightly too slowly or slightly too quickly. You should adjust your breathing until the mouthpiece light is bright green
You are breathing in with too much force.
Remove the mouthpiece and wait for a few moments. Now adjust your speed so that the mouthpiece light is bright green
Avoid using Breelib in direct sunlight so that you can always see the lights of the mouthpiece clearly.
To save battery, Breelib will turn itself OFF if you break for 5 minutes or longer between breathing in through the mouthpiece.
If this happens lightly press the ON/OFF button once to turn Breelib back ON and finish taking your dose.
If drug is left inside the nebuliser unit for 5 minutes or longer it will dry up and block the tiny holes which make the breathable drug mist. When this happens it will take you longer to finish taking your dose.
It is possible to take a full dose in less than 3 minutes.
When there is no more drug left inside Breelib for you to breathe in, the mouthpiece light will blink green for 5 seconds before Breelib turns itself OFF.
If you try and breathe in through the mouthpiece during this time Breelib will feel completely blocked.
If you try and turn Breelib back ON immediately after finishing a dose you will hear a 'beep'. This is normal and is the device telling you that you have finished you dose.
After finishing each dose you should immediately take Breelib apart and rinse as you have been advised.
Never reuse leftover drug.
