Nebuliser unit

To fill Breelib, drug is put into the middle of the drug-dosing system underneath the cap of the nebuliser unit.

nebuliser unit Breelib

Inside the nebuliser unit is a sensor which lets Breelib know when it has been filled with drug. If you try and turn Breelib ON without first filling it you will hear a beep and Breelib will not turn ON. This is a normal function of the device which is to let you know that something is not quite right with the device.

Watch what happens when you try and turn Breelib ON without filling with drug.

Filling Breelib when away from home

The Breelib carry case can be used as a flat surface where you can put Breelib together and fill it with drug. Storing Breelib in the carry case between uses will also protect the device from damage.

Ventavis (iloprost trometamol)

Ventavis is stored in glass ampoules.

On the neck of the ampoule you will see two coloured rings. The colour of the rings relate to the dose of drug inside the ampoule.

Below the ring is a dot. This is where the neck breaks when you snap open the ampoule.

Before opening the ampoule, hold it in an upright position and gently flick the neck until all of the drug is inside the body.

Transferring drug into the nebuliser unit

To request a supply of plastic pipettes please call the Breelib Support Centre on freephone +44 (0)800 0 463 255.

If there is any drug left inside the ampoule repeat this process until all the drug is transferred into Breelib.

After filling Breelib safely place the empty ampoule in a sharps bin and rinse the pipette with ZeroWater before leaving to air dry.

Closing the cap

When the cap of the nebuliser unit is closed, the piston pushes the exact amount of drug you need to breathe in into a separate area of the nebuliser unit.

The drug which you do not need to breathe in is stored inside the drug-dosing system. This is the drug which you empty out of the nebuliser unit after you have finished taking your dose. You should never reuse leftover drug.

When the cap is clipped shut Breelib has been filled and the device can be turned ON to take your dose.

Once the cap has been closed it should not be opened until you have finished taking your dose. This will prevent you from taking more drug than you need to.

Before turning Breelib ON make sure that the charger is not plugged in.
